CHALLENGE: “We asked Enginasion to develop a better idea for a count-verification system,” says Chuck Selig, Director of Product Development for IMA. “Our legacy system looked only at the presence or absence of a tablet in the mechanical sorting system of the machine. We needed a system that counted the tablets as they were released into the bottle to assure 100% accuracy. The system also was required to work with new and existing tooling (slats).”
SOLUTION: The revolutionary TruCount® system scans, evaluates and counts the product before it enters the bottle and ensures 100% count accuracy. Rather than using a vision system, TruCount® provides a fully integrated count verification system that is reliable and eliminates the need for operator set-up. A large array of photo diodes and detectors scan the product at nearly 2000 times per second after the tablet leaves the slat. Tablets are fully contained within the manifold to ensure counted tablets enter the bottle.
